The original list of 82 birds of the Thurston Nature Center was compiled by Ms. Diana Dyer and included in the Thurston Nature Center brochure prepared by Mr. Mike Conboy in Spring 1996. A second update of the list was done in Fall 1996. In October of 2009, Sarah Toner provided an update to the list. Click on the name of each bird to see more information. Most of the webpage links provided are either to Cornell University's Laboratory of Ornithology or the U. S. Geological Survey Biological Resources Division's Patuxent Wildlfe Research Laboratory.
