Kim Komando Multimedia is seeking a superstar Newsletter Editor who is passionate about storytelling, has a knack for adding humor, possesses a keen attention to detail, and is a lot more clever than AI. As Newsletter Editor, you’ll play a critical role in shaping our brand’s voice and engaging our audience through smart, captivating and error-free content.
Responsibilities:
- Enhancing Storytelling: Ensure every word contributes to compelling and captivating stories that resonate with our audience. Develop a deep understanding of our brand’s voice, mission and target audience to speak to them directly.
- Adding Humor and Wit: Infuse our email newsletters with great jokes, clever puns and light-hearted humor that delight our subscribers. Bonus points if your cover letter makes us LOL.
- Editing and Proofreading: Thoroughly review and edit all written content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, clarity and consistency. Ensure all newsletters are error-free, coherent and aligned with our brand guidelines.
- Content Curation: Collaborate with the content team to curate and select relevant and interesting articles, news, and updates for inclusion in our newsletters. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and news to ensure our content is timely and engaging.
- Subject Line Optimization: Craft attention-grabbing subject lines that entice readers to open our newsletters. Utilize your cleverness and knowledge of our audience to create subject lines that stand out in crowded inboxes.
- A/B Testing and Analytics: Continuously monitor the performance of our newsletters, analyze engagement metrics, and identify areas for improvement. Conduct A/B testing to optimize open rates, click-through rates, and conversions.
Requirements:
- Exceptional Writing Skills: You’ve got the whole package of writing, editing and proofreading abilities. You have a keen eye for detail and can communicate complex ideas clearly and make them fun to read.
- Creativity and Humor: A natural ability to add humor, wit and creativity to written content. You can transform mundane topics into engaging stories that captivate readers.
- Storytelling Expertise: Proficient in the art of storytelling and narrative development. You understand how to structure content to create a compelling flow that keeps readers engaged.
- Knowledge of Email Marketing: Familiarity with email marketing best practices, including subject line optimization, A/B testing and engagement metrics analysis. Experience with email marketing platforms is a plus.
- Time Management Skills: Strong organizational skills to effectively manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
